We have been commissioned to create the artwork to celebrate New Year 2020 for Ginkgo Concept.
Rats are very witty and intelligent. They live in group and usually go together. As being believed, people born in a Rat year are thought to be wealthy and prosperous.
We have the idea of bringing the feeling of joy (cheerful/positive energy) into the artwork to celebrate the new year to come. As 2020 is the year of Rat, we often think of it as the year of celebration and being together; and to carry that feeling into the artwork, we come up with the concepts:
THE RAT'S BAND
There are 5 little rats that are happily playing music together. The number 5 also represents the 5-elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth. This is the wish for the year of fullness & balance.
